The Sapere team is proud to announce a feature that transforms the learning experience: personalized learning paths. Designed to adapt to each learner's unique needs, these paths reflect our commitment to offering language education that is tailor-made, intelligent, and motivating.

With this new feature, Sapere.ai no longer simply offers tailored content and exercises — it now provides a dynamic, fully customizable roadmap. These paths let every learner build a relevant, motivating route toward language mastery.

New feature: learning paths that adapt to you

Since Sapere was founded, our mission has been to give learners tailor-made content based on their profile, level, professional field, and pace. It seemed only natural, then, to offer them a clear and motivating roadmap for how to approach that content.

Sapere.ai's personalized learning paths are designed to be relevant, motivating, and effective. They let learners define their own progression and choose how they want to learn, based on their goals, professional field, and interests.

How do you create your personalized path?

Creating a path starts with a simple question: how would you like to personalize it? Sapere.ai offers two ways to get started, suited to busy professionals and to those who already have a specific goal in mind:

Based on my profile: Sapere helps you personalize your path based on your professional field and/or your interests. At this step, a toggle lets you specify what the platform should draw on to shape the themes of your steps: your professional profile (“My professional profile”), your interests (“My interests”), or “Both” at once. The professional context already entered in your profile (occupation, industry, company, job description) and your interests (travel, cooking, reading...) are then combined to offer you a path that reflects who you are. Of course, all of this remains editable with a single click.

A specific goal: Describe your goal to help Sapere build the ideal path for you. You explain in a few words what you want to achieve, and Sapere builds a tailor-made path around that goal. This could be “holding a conversation in English at work,” “improving my German before a trip in two months,” “learning to introduce myself in Japanese,” and so on.

This initial choice lets you align your path with professional, personal, or highly specific needs. And it's not just about reaching a particular level: with these personalized paths, Sapere also aims to make learning motivating and engaging.

Your path: from your current level to your target level

Whichever starting point you choose, the next step is to define your path on the Sapere scale. Your current level (for example, Sapere 3, equivalent to an A1 level on the CEFR scale) is determined automatically from your profile, then displayed on a scale of 18 sub-levels. All that's left is to indicate how far you want to go: a simple + or − is enough to set the level you want to reach, such as Sapere 4 to aim for “confirmed mastery.”

Each path allows you to move up by a single level at a time. This avoids the temptation to progress too quickly and artificially, without truly retaining what you learn. Note that a single scale, designed by Sapere, now serves as the throughline for every path, regardless of how you chose to start. You can always check the equivalent of your Sapere level on other scales, such as the CEFR or the Échelle québécoise.

Clear, structured progress

Each learning path is divided into clear, measurable stages. Learners can see their current level, how many stages remain, and their overall progress. Each stage includes lessons, exercises, and a mini-test to check what they've learned.

Relevant lessons

Each stage includes 2 to 3 lessons highlighting the skills to work on based on your level. Naturally, each lesson is personalized according to the choice made at the start of the path: based on your professional profile, your interests, or both.

For example, a learner who requested a path based on their interests (reading, writing) will receive a path including several stages such as "Discover literary vocabulary," "Introduce yourself as a reader or writer," or "Write short sentences about literature." Within one of these stages, there might be lessons covering literary vocabulary as well as figures of speech to know.

Tailored exercises

Once each concept has been read and understood, it's time for exercises! Each stage includes 6 to 8 varied exercises, meaning they work on listening comprehension, reading comprehension, spoken expression, and written expression. In addition to being clear, the path allows learners to work on all skills at once.

A mini-test to check what's been retained

Once all the exercises are complete, you can take the end-of-stage mini-test, which includes questions on the concepts covered in the lessons and exercises. To move on to the next stage, you need to score above 50%.

Finally, the interface clearly shows where the learner is ("YOU ARE HERE") and the percentage of exercises completed for each stage, giving full visibility into their progress.
